My Story

Hi.  I’m Tori (short for Victoria).

Life can change dramatically when we make ourselves a priority and do the inner work to remove the barriers that keep us out of love and connection with ourselves and others.

I would have to say that my life today is pretty amazing and very fulfilling. I live in a beautiful home surrounded by nature, with a loving husband whom I have been together with for over 18 years.

We are in a relationship that allows space for us to be individuals with differing needs and desires in life, while still being in partnership.

I have amazing close friends who are on a similar personal growth journey as me and who I feel seen and understood by.  I am surrounded by a community who loves and cares about me and I get to do work that I love. People often experience me as carefree, playful, compassionate, intuitive, and grounded.

But it hasn’t always been this way…

Growing up, life was somewhat of a nightmare. I was raised in poverty by a single mother who was mentally ill and an alcoholic.

Her inability to be a responsible parent led us to move around quite a bit, and we were often in and out of shelters. My mother was physically and verbally abusive, contributing to my formation of low self-esteem and depression.

As I got older, I attracted relationships with partners who treated me like the shitty way I felt inside. I longed for true love and connection, yet I had no idea what that looked like or how to get it.  I mistook sex for love, felt numb emotionally and sexually, and I suffered from shame around my sexuality. I didn’t trust anyone, including myself.

I became a codependent caretaker, defining my sense of self-worth by taking care of others while sacrificing myself and neglecting my own needs. Instead of enjoying my early twenties like many of my friends, I found myself helping to raise 5 children that were not biologically mine. I could go on to say more about the traumas of my life but it’s not necessary.

Just like me, I’m sure you too have had your own life experiences which, for better or worse, have shaped the person you are today.

Thankfully, I found lots of support in my journey to becoming the empowered woman I am today. I would love to be a part of your journey if you feel drawn to working with me.
